Application range

TNR series surge protective devices are applicable to A.C 45-62Hz, 400V and below in TT, IT,TN-C,TN-S,TN-C-S etc power supply system, widely applicable to B class, C class and D class protection of power supply at juncture of LPZOB→LPZ1 ,LPZ2,LPZ3.

Operating principle

In normal condition SPD is under high-resistant state. When it appears transient over-voltage on the power network caused by lightning or other reason, surge protection devices will breakover in nanosecond and discharge over-voltage to ground to protect the electric equipments of power network . When surge voltage pass and disappear, the SPD will return to high-resistant state, it will not influence the powernetwork's operation.

Surge protection device grade protection theory and selecting standard

According to IEC60364-4, the voltage of three-phase power network is 230/400V, impulse withstand voltage of the protected equipment is divided into 4 types; the grades of insulation impulse voltage ensure what kind of surge protection device you should choose. According to the standard, the overvoltage of low voltage electric device is divided into type I ,type II , type Ill. type IV, corresponding grades of insulation impulse withstand voltage are 1.5KV, 2.5KV, 4 KV, 6KV.
